Student Employment Opportunities

The Botanical Garden hires full-time Memorial University of Newfoundland undergraduate students. Program of study does not need to correspond to the employment position, as resumes are reviewed for relevant work, volunteer and life experience. Students are hired in the following positions:

Full-Time Summer Employees

Summer positions range from 11-16 weeks and take place between May-August or June-August.

Although positions may change from year to year, the Garden usually hires full-time summer students in these departments:

  • Education

  • Gardening

  • Grounds Maintenance

  • Nursery

  • Visitor Services & Gift Shop

Applicants must have been full-time undergraduate students in the two preceding semesters, and have the intention of returning to full-time courses in the fall.

All available positions are posted through the my.mun.ca website in March, with interviews taking place in early April. Positions are competitive as the Garden is a desirable place to work. Many positions are filled by returning staff, and staff often stay on for 2 or more seasons. For more direction on how to sign in to apply, please visit the Career Development and Experiential Learning website.
