Graduate Internship Procedures
Graduate Internship positions are open to full-time, course-based Master’s students currently enrolled in graduate programs at Memorial University that align with STEM.
Internships are part-time (up to 24 hours per week) and are paid at the current graduate assistant rate of $25.94 per hour. Students can hold one Graduate Internship per semester. Master’s students can participate in a maximum of one internship through the program during their graduate studies.
During the internship period, students are expected to work with the employer for up to 24 hours per week, in accordance with SGS guidelines and General Regulation 3.4.8 of the University Calendar. Each internship normally lasts for 12 weeks.
If the intern is an international student, it is also important to ensure that they do not exceed the allowable number of work hours as determined by their immigration document (Study permit holders may work up to 24 hours per week off-campus, provided all eligibility requirements outlined on the IRCC website are met.). If you have any questions regarding work hours, please contact Xin Wang at gradinternship@mun.ca or reach out to the Immigration Advising Team.
If you have questions, feel free to contact gradinternship@mun.ca.
