The Canadian Botanical Association held its Conference in St. John's from June 10-14, 2025. The Department of Biology would like to congratulate Dr. Julissa Roncal on bringing the conference back to Newfoundland for the first time since 1978. The conference was a success and the department would like to acknowledge the incredible amount of work done by Dr. Roncal and all of the volunteers! This was tremendous undertaking by Dr. Roncal and this was acknowledged in an article in The Gazette (Botany on the rock) as well as a feature on CBC news (https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.6797187)! Congratulations to Dr. Roncal and all involved in this event!
