Using Banner
Banner is used by a variety of areas at Memorial University, and is our Student Information Management solution. Faculty and staff members can access Banner to review student information, including enrolment information. Banner can be accessed at https://www.mun.ca/banner/ - please ensure that you access the Admin Login.
The below table details the Direct Navigation prompts, and some of the most used Banner screens at Memorial:

How to Use |

SDADEGR |
Enter the student’s MUN ID and click Go. This screen confirms the student's overall program information, including what route they're on (e.g. "Thesis", "Course", "Internship"), their degree/diploma and specialization, and their status (e.g. "Sought", "Program Completed", "Withdrawn", "Terminated"). |

SDAASAR |
Enter the student’s MUN ID and click Go. If an error message appears, enter “GSS” in the area. This screen confirms the courses required from the student’s original Program of Study request. If there are courses listed here that have not been taken (or other courses in the SHACRSE screen (below)), a Change of Program form will be required. If you see 6XX1, 7XX1, this usually means that there are electives that can be undertaken, or transfer credits. A change of program form is needed to delete the elective and add the course(s) taken. |

SHACRSE |
Enter the student’s MUN ID and click Go. The term field is left empty. The courses that were listed in SDAASAR are listed here and can be cross referenced to confirm the courses have been completed, and a grade of at least 65% achieved (or a PASS) for each course. |

SDADCMT |
Enter the student’s MUN ID and the Program Code (use search function if program code is not known) and click Go. This screen shows all comments regarding the student’s progression, which can also be used to identify what 6XX1, 7XX1 or the elective courses are. |

SHACOMI |
Enter the student’s MUN ID in the “Associated ID” section, and MSSUP for Masters students or PHSUP for Doctoral students, then click go. The student’s recorded supervisory committee members is listed in this screen (drawn from the student’s original Program of Study form, as well as any Change of Program forms that have updated the supervisory committee composition. If the supervisory committee needs to be updated, a Change of Program form is required. |

SFAREGF |
Enter the student’s MUN ID and the current semester to confirm that the student is currently registered. If a student is not registered, please e-mail sgs@mun.ca. |

SGASADD |
Enter the student’s MUN ID and the current semester to confirm the courses the student is taking. This can also be used to confirm if a student has undertaken, or is undertaking, their comprehensive examination prior to their 7th term (note that students who have transferred from Masters to a Doctoral degree may undertake their comprehensive examination after their 7th term). |
