Confined Space Entry and Awareness (WHSCC Approved)

Who should attend this course?

Any Memorial University employee that as a part of their job requirements is required to or has the portential to work in a confined space. As well Supervisors that direct work of employees that conduct work in confined spaces are also required to complete confined space training.

Description

In 2012 changes to the NL Occupational Health and Safety Regulations made it mandatory for anyone workingin a confined space to complete a confined space entry and awarness training course approved by the Workplace Health and Safety Compensation Commission (WHSCC). 

This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of confined spaces and the ability to recognize hazards associated with working in a confined space environment. This course will meet the Confined Space Training Standard for Workplace Health and Safety Compensation Commission (WHSCC) for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

This WHSCC approved training program consists of classroom discussion and demonstration, practical training and trainee evaluation and certification giving all employees the fundamental information to protect themselves from injury associated with confined space hazards.
