WHMIS - Newfoundland and Labrador’s Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) has been amended therefore all groups working with or in close proximity to hazardous products must complete the new WHMIS training, regardless if you have completed WHMIS training previously. The new WHMIS legislation incorporates the internationally agreed upon Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) system. This system comprises images and labels to identify potentially harmful chemicals; standardized documents to provide necessary safety information; and education and training requirements to ensure workers know what they need to stay safe.

Lab Safety - This module outlines general safety practices required for working in laboratories where hazards are present. Any Faculty and Staff that previously completed the Lab Safety module and have a record of completion are not required to repeat the Lab Safety module as the course material has not changed.
