Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Class 7)

Who should attend this course?

Any Memorial University employee or student that handles packages containing class 7 radioactive materials is required to take this course. Each lab that holds a Radioisotope User Permit from Memorial must have at least one person in the lab that will complete this course if they receive packages containing radioactive materials (Type A and Type B packages). If you only receive "excepted" packages, you do not require this certification (please contact the Radiation safety Officer for more information).

This training will provide Memorial University faculty, staff, and students with the knowledge to safely receive Class 7 - Radioactive Materials. It is important that all personnel at Memorial who are required to handle packages containing radioactive materials are informed of the risks involved, and are provided with adequate training that enables them to handle them in a safe manner.
