Post SPARKS Events!

The Irish poet Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill will be reading at the SPARKS Literary Festival this Sunday, January 31st. She will also offer a public lecture, "Living in Two Worlds at the Same Time: An Irish Speaking Family in Ireland," on Monday, February 1st, at 8 pm in AA1046. All are welcome! Admission is free and so is parking, in Lot 15B.

Earlier that day, Mary Dalton talks with Shelagh Rogers of The Next Chapter about her recently published book Edge on CBC Radio 1 at 1.30 p.m. NT. The interview will be rebroadcast on Saturday, February 6, at 4.30 p.m. NT.

Showcasing a use of language as vivid, precise, and supple as that in Dalton's award-winning poetry, Edge reflects the range of a major Canadian poet's interests and influences. In the process it explores connections between people and place in her native Newfoundland. Edge contains thirty years of essays, reviews, and interviews that explore margins in literature and culture. Professor Dalton will be reading from Edge at the SPARKS Festival as well.
