2018 Gregory J. Power Poetry Competition
We are seeking submissions for the 2018 Gregory J. Power Poetry Awards, deadline March 16th, 2018! Submissions of up to two original, unpublished poems are invited from full-time or part-time students of Memorial University for the 2018 Gregory J. Power Poetry Competition. Each student must supply, on a separate sheet, the following information: home address and student number, telephone number and email address, and a signed declaration that the work submitted is his/her own and has not previously appeared in print. Poems will not be returned. The student’s name must not appear on the poem(s). Poems with Newfoundland content will also be considered for the Jeroboam Prize ($50). The announcement of winners and the presentation of prizes will take place at the Awards Ceremony, to be held on Wednesday, April 4, from 4 – 6 pm, in AA3018. The prizes: 1st place up to $300, 2nd place up to $200, 3rd place up to $100, and honourable mentions $25.
