Tenure track position: Communications & Creativity
The Department of English, which administers the Major in Communication Studies program, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to commence July 1, 2019. The central areas of specialization are Communication Studies and Creativity, and the successful candidate will take an active role in growing the interdisciplinary Major in Communication Studies and in developing a graduate program in Communication Studies. Strong candidates will have teaching specialization and an active research program in the Digital Humanities (DH) and new media. Ideally, the candidate will also be able to contribute to our Creative Writing programs by teaching courses in new media creation.
Our department understands Digital Humanities and new media to include but not be limited to digital storytelling, digital activism, multimedia installation, social media, digital exhibition and archives, podcasting, photography, sound, and geographical information systems [GIS]. We are especially interested in candidates with a background in Indigenous new media, digital storytelling, or multimedia, who can teach in Creative Writing areas such as screen writing, sound art, radio drama, intermedia, and/or performance.
