COVID-19 admission updates
International students living outside of Canada who have received either a provisional or final general acceptance for the Spring (May) 2020 semester as of April 27, 2020 have been sent a replacement general admission letter for Spring (May) 2020. This letter outlines their general admission status and allows students to register for online courses in the Spring semester. Applicants were also sent a general admission letter for the Fall (September) 2020 semester. If you received an acceptance before April 27 and did not receive the letters you will need to make a deferral request through the normal process.
International students living outside of Canada whose applications are assessed and who receive a provisional or final general acceptance for Spring 2020 after April 27 will automatically receive a Spring 2020 admission letter and a Fall 2020 admission letter.
Applicants for competitive-entry programs will hear from faculties/schools directly.
Newfoundland and Labrador and other Canadian applicants can request a deferral, if necessary, as per the current Applicant Deferral process. As well, applicants currently completing Memorial’s ESL program will need to defer through the normal process.
Applications may be deferred to the following semester, one time only, but at the discretion of the Admissions Office. We may offer to defer an application in circumstances where an application error was made or when it is considered in the best interest of the applicant.
To request an application deferral, you must first drop any registered courses, and then contact the Admissions Office. In your request to defer email, include your full name, student number, and an explanation of your extenuating circumstance. The deadline for application deferrals is the first day of classes each semester.
