Finding suitable rental accommodations may take some time depending on the time of year, rental preferences and area(s) in which you would like to rent. According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC), the average monthly rent for a two bedroom apartment in St. John's was $857 in 2014. Many rental properties require a lease of one year and do not include utilities (heat and light) in the monthly rent.
