Student loans

We've all heard the stories of people graduating with huge student loan debts. But think of it this way: if the tuition, student fees and cost of living is lower, then your loan will be lower.

Check out all the details on applying for a student loan, but once you're here, we'll make it as easy as we can for you. To be eligible for a Canadian student loan you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or designated as a protected person.

Newfoundland and Labrador Tuition Relief Grant Program

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has created a needs-based Tuition Relief Grant Program to offer a maximum of $3,450 per academic year to eligible students. Eligibility for the Tuition Relief Grant will be based on the existing student aid program. The funding will be available to residents who:

  • have graduated from a high school in Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • have enrolled in full-time studies at Memorial University in a bachelor level-degree program; and
  • who qualify for need under the provincial student aid program.
