Sexual violence awareness and prevention course

In keeping with best practices and a multi-layered approach to education and the prevention of sexual violence, Memorial is introducing a mandatory sexual violence awareness and prevention course this year for new undergraduate and graduate students at the university, and certificate and diploma students at the Marine Institute. Remaining students, including Faculty of Medicine students, will be included in the next phase of the roll-out. The goal is to have the course mandatory for all students by fall 2023. The students involved in the current roll-out will be automatically registered for the course when they register for their fall 2022 courses. As this course is mandatory, students will need to have it completed in order to register for their second semester courses. Students who successfully complete the course by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, will have their names entered into a draw for a tuition credit (in total, four separate tuition credits of $2,500 each will be awarded).

More information for undergraduate students is available here.
