Rhonda Shortall, Sexual Harassment Advisor (on leave)
Rhonda Shortall accepted the position of sexual harassment advisor in February 2015. Ms. Shortall holds a master of social work and a bachelor of science (honours) in psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a bachelor of social work from the University of British Columbia. She is a fellow of the School of Graduate Studies with more than 25 years of strong clinical experience and she has been a leader in both clinical and professional development, program and policy development, critical thinking and system innovation. Ms. Shortall has been chair, co-ordinator and champion of numerous working groups and new community and organizational program initiatives. During her career she has also been a mental health consultant in Prince Edward Island, worked in women’s shelters in British Columbia and has been a sexual abuse consultant in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Maxine Paul, Sexual Harassment Advisor (Acting)
Maxine Paul joined the Sexual Harassment Office as the associate sexual harassment advisor in January 2022. She obtained both her bachelor and master of social work at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Throughout her career, Ms. Paul practiced in various regions and programs in Newfoundland and Labrador and she worked in British Columbia as a mental health therapist. Ms. Paul has extensive clinical counselling experience through her work with Eastern Health in the trauma and addictions treatment programs and as a private practitioner. Ms. Paul has been a social work educator, having taught in the BSW program at the School of Social Work with Memorial since 2012, and she has over 15 years’ experience in developing and delivering educational programs.
Tracy Kreuzburg, Sexual Harassment Coordinator (Grenfell)
Tracy Kreuzburg accepted the position of sexual harassment coordinator, Grenfell Campus in Fall 2021. Ms.Kreuzburg completed a bachelor of social work degree from McGill University, graduate courses in social work from Memorial University of Newfoundland and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society of McGill University. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and has spent almost 25 years of her career working in a variety of service areas, including mental health and addiction services, victim services and community-based employment services.
Sandra Wells, Administrative Coordinator (on leave)
Sandra Wells joined the Sexual Harassment Office as the administrative coordinator in November 2019 and brought more than 30 years of administrative experience to the position. Ms. Wells began her public service career in 2002 with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Parks and Natural Areas Division. In October 2005, she joined the Department of Human Resources, Immigration Unit as senior administrative support for the Executive Director of Immigration with a unit mandate to create a new Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism and develop the province’s first Immigration Action Plan. Ms. Wells worked as the department coordinator with Immigration for 14 years before joining Memorial.
Rachel Huys, Administrative Coordinator
Rachel Huys joined the Sexual Harassment office as the administrative coordinator in July 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Honors) and Master of Music from the University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Memorial University. Ms. Huys has a diverse employment history, most recently spending the past seven years in the classroom for the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District. She has worked in theatres throughout Newfoundland and Canada as a performer and musician. Prior to moving to Newfoundland, she spent almost seven years administering undergraduate education programming for the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Western Ontario.
