Sadia Chowdhury joined the Sexual Harassment Office in the role of administrative coordinator in April 2023. She completed a bachelor’s degree in anthropology at Dhaka University, Bangladesh, and obtained a master's degree in medical anthropology at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Recently, Sadia received a master’s degree in gender studies at Memorial University. She started her career as a public health researcher and has over 16 years of research experience on gender-based violence and its relation to public health. Sadia is also a member of the standing committee of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion-Anti-Racism (EDI-AR) at Memorial University.

Amnesty Rose joined the Sexual Harassment Office as the sexual harassment advisor in June 2023.  Amnesty holds a master’s degree in health ethics from Memorial and a bachelor of neuroscience and mental health (hons.) from Carleton University. She has conducted extensive research and stakeholder relations in the areas of sexual violence and abuse and joins Memorial from her most recent position as the Coalition Against Sexual Exploitation of Youth coordinator with Thrive CYN. A former community advisor at Carleton University, Amnesty is also familiar with working in academic institutions and they have a background in human rights policy development and implementation, ethical consultation and advocacy.  If you see Amnesty around campus, please say hello. Maxine Paul (On Secondment)

Associate Advisor | Sexual Harassment Office

Maxine Paul joined the Sexual Harassment Office as the associate advisor in January 2022. She obtained both her bachelor and master of social work at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Throughout her career, Maxine practiced in various regions and programs in Newfoundland and Labrador and she worked in British Columbia as a mental health therapist. Maxine has extensive clinical counselling experience through her work with Eastern Health in the trauma and addictions treatment programs and as a private practitioner. Maxine has been a social work educator, having taught in the BSW program at the School of Social Work with Memorial since 2012, and she has over 15 years of experience in developing and delivering educational programs.
