Rhonda Shortall, Sexual Harassment Advisor
Rhonda Shortall accepted the position of Sexual Harassment Advisor in February 2015. Ms. Shortall holds a master of social work and a bachelor of science (honours) in psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a bachelor of social work from the University of British Columbia. She is a fellow of the School of Graduate Studies with more than 25 years of strong clinical experience and she has been a leader in both clinical and professional development, program and policy development, critical thinking and system innovation. Ms. Shortall has been chair, co-ordinator and champion of numerous working groups and new community and organizational program initiatives. During her career she has also been a mental health consultant in Prince Edward Island, worked in women’s shelters in British Columbia and has been a sexual abuse consultant in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Ashley Curnew, Associate Sexual Harassment Advisor
Ashley Curnew accepted the position as Associate Sexual Harassment Advisor in April 2017. Ms. Curnew graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2011 at Memorial University and was awarded the Medal for Academic Excellence in Social Work. She is a registered Social Worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Social Workers and has previously worked in a variety of settings including the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services as well as the School of Social Work as a student liaison officer.
Debbie Lindahl, Sexual Harassment Coordinator
Debbie Lindahl accepted the position of sexual harassment coordinator in November 2018. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Education) degree from Memorial University in 1983 and worked for 30 years with the Western Newfoundland School District where she started as an educational therapist and later became a guidance counsellor. Within the school system, Ms. Lindahl was focused on improving services for students as well as increasing communication between schools and community organizations. Ms. Lindahl has served on various committees over the years in the positions of chair, coordinator and board member. She was one of the original board members for the Community Youth Network in Corner Brook and has served as the branch president and vice-president of the NLCPA (formerly SCAN).
