Procedure for Kullik-lighting and Smudging
Procedure
- A list of the permanent Kullik-lighting and smudging sites is available here.
- Kullik-lighting and smudging may occur at other sites throughout the University under the following provisions:
- In all cases on the St. John’s Campus, notify the Office of Indigenous Affairs. Notifications should be made at least five days in advance.
- In all cases on the Grenfell Campus, notify the Indigenous Resource Office. Notifications should be made at least five days in advance.
- The Office of Indigenous Affairs at the St. John’s Campus will notify Facilities Management to arrange a site visit.
- The Indigenous Resource Centre at Grenfell Campus will notify Facilities Management to arrange a site visit.
- For requests at the St. John’s campus, the Office of Indigenous Affairs will notify requestors of the outcome and if they are ready proceed. For Grenfell Campus, this notification will come from the Indigenous Resource Centre.
- Signs should be posted at least 48 hours in advance of the event, and removed after Kullik-lighting and smudging are concluded.
