  • Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) currently living in Newfoundland and Labrador

Are you an Internationally Educated Nurse living in Newfoundland and Labrador?

If you are an Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) living in Newfoundland and Labrador, you are invited to participate in a research study titled: Exploring IENs’ Self-Perceived Quality of Life After Relocating to Newfoundland and Labrador.

This study is led by Faculty of Nursing researchers Peggy Rauman, Robin D. Burry, and Ruth Chandran and aims to better understand IENs’ experiences and quality of life after relocating to NL.

Research Study Invitation: Indigenous Undergraduate Nursing Students’ Perspectives

Researchers at Memorial University of Newfoundland are conducting a study to learn from the experiences and perspectives of Canadian Indigenous undergraduate nursing students (IUNS) across all Schools of Nursing in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This study is looking to speak with the following group of participants:

  • Canadian Indigenous undergraduate nursing students (IUNS) studying in Newfoundland and Labrador

Are you a Canadian Indigenous undergraduate nursing student in Newfoundland and Labrador?

If you are a Canadian Indigenous undergraduate nursing student enrolled in a School of Nursing in Newfoundland and Labrador, you are invited to consider participating in a research study titled: Indigenous Undergraduate Nursing Students’ (IUNS) Perspectives Related to Non-Indigenous Undergraduate Nursing Students’ (Non-IUNS) Relationship with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action (TRC-CA): Giving Voice to Indigenous Students’ Research Priorities.

This study seeks to learn from your experiences and perspectives as an Indigenous nursing student about how future research should explore non-Indigenous nursing students’ knowledge, beliefs, and attitudes toward the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action (TRC-CA). Your voice will help guide the direction of future studies, ensuring that Indigenous students’ priorities shape the questions, themes, and approaches that are most important.

The study involves a one-time storytelling interview, approximately 60–90 minutes in length, conducted in a safe and supportive environment and guided by an Indigenous research team member. Sessions may be held virtually or in person, individually or in a small group, based on participant preference. Participation is completely voluntary.

Research Study Invitation: Transition to Practice and Mental Well-Being of Registered Nurses

Researchers at Memorial University are conducting a quantitative study examining the transition to practice experiences and mental well-being of registered nurses in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) following the conclusion of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This study is looking to speak with the following group of participants:

  • Registered nurses who transitioned to nursing practice in Newfoundland and Labrador on or after May 4, 2023

Are you a registered nurse who recently transitioned to practice?

If you are a registered nurse who transitioned to nursing practice on or after May 4, 2023, you are invited to consider participating in this study. Participation involves completing a one-time online survey that takes approximately 25 minutes and can be completed at a time that is convenient for you.

The survey will ask questions about your experience transitioning to nursing practice after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as your mental health and overall well-being.

This important project will inform the development of supportive resources for registered nurses transitioning to practice in Newfoundland and Labrador.
