The JBI gLOCAL Solution Room is a week-long global initiative held from June 1–7, 2026 across more than 20 countries and languages, focused on advancing evidence-based healthcare by addressing challenges in translating evidence into practice.

Through coordinated local events around the world, clinicians, researchers, educators, students, policymakers and community partners come together to explore practical solutions for implementing evidence in real-world healthcare settings.

Hosted by JBI Memorial University Nursing for Evidence-Based Healthcare, this local hybrid Solution Room will feature nurse clinicians, researchers, educators and community partners discussing barriers, supports and practical strategies for translating research findings into practice across diverse healthcare settings in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This interactive session is designed to create space for grounded conversations about what works — and what does not — when implementing evidence in clinical and community care.

AboutJBI Memorial University Nursing for Evidence-Based Healthcare

JBI Memorial University Nursing for Evidence-Based Healthcare, housed within Memorial University’s Faculty of Nursing, is part of the global JBI Collaboration — an international network dedicated to advancing evidence-informed healthcare and improving health outcomes through the use of best evidence in practice.

Now marking more than a decade of collaboration with JBI, Memorial’s involvement in evidence-based healthcare has grown through the leadership and vision of faculty members committed to strengthening research translation, implementation science and knowledge exchange in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Centre was formally established in 2021 through the leadership of Dr. Alice Gaudine, whose work helped build Memorial’s connection with JBI and expand opportunities in evidence-based nursing. Former convenors Dr. Karen Parsons and Dr. Sandra Small also played important roles in the Centre’s development, supporting JBI training, collaboration and capacity-building among nursing researchers, students and clinical partners across the province.

Today, JBI Memorial University Nursing for Evidence-Based Healthcare continues to support evidence synthesis, implementation and knowledge translation initiatives that connect local nursing scholarship with global best practices and real-world healthcare improvement.
