Our “Back on Track” Audio Publication Series makes one-of-a-kind collections of archival recordings and new music available to the public, with CDs, websites, and other media that showcase the diverse musics of Newfoundland and Labrador and the surrounding region.

Cultures of Sound Network

MMaP is a founding partner of the Cultures of Sound Network. An international collaboration between MMaP, the Canadian Museum of History, the Centre for Sound Communities at Cape Breton University, Smithsonian Folkways Recordings at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, and the Sound Studies Institute at the University of Alberta, this unique international alliance develops new research and public engagement projects in the area of music, sound, and culture.
