I research the Indigenous languages of Canada, particularly with respect to their syntactic structure and to language documentaion and revitalization. I focus particularly on the Dene, Algonquian and Inuit families of languages. Syntactic interests of mine include copulas, temporal grammar and the fine structure of the clausal periphery. On the documentary/revitalization front, I am particularly interested in corpus- and database-building and the creation of IT tools for aiding pedagogy.
