St. John’s has one international airport, the St. John’s International Airport (YYT). The airport is located at 100 World Parkway in St. John’s, and its entrances are about 1km away from the highway exit and entrance ramps. Driving time between the airport and the St. John’s campus of Memorial University is approximately 10 minutes, and between the airport and downtown St. John’s is approximately 15 minutes.

By Land and Sea

For visitors driving to the province, Marine Atlantic runs a daily year-round ferry between North Sydney, Nova Scotia and Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador. Port aux Basques is located approximately nine hours, by vehicle, from St. John’s.

For visitors travelling from elsewhere in the province, DRL provides daily motor-coach service to and from St. John’s, with stops at several points across the island of Newfoundland.

Public Transit

Metrobus, the city’s public transit provider, operates buses throughout the day throughout St. John’s and the surrounding area. Many routes stop at the St. John’s campus of Memorial University.

GoBus Accessible Transit operates within St. John’s and Mount Pearl and offers public transit services for passengers who are not able to use standard Metrobus transportation due to a disability. Pre-registration is required and can be accessed via GoBus’ website.
