About

In December 2019, Memorial University's Board of Regents approved the creation of the Vice-Provost, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism (EDI-AR) portfolio. The EDI-AR portfolio builds on and, where applicable, enhances the work of other and/or pre-existing EDI-AR entities across Memorial.

As the inaugural vice-provost in this portfolio, Dr. Delores V. Mullings is working to build relationships with Memorial’s senior administrative, academic and student leaders. In addition, Dr. Mullings is developing relationships with the broader Memorial communities across all of its campuses.

Through this work and the careful and intentional implementation of the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Strategic Plan (in development), Memorial can help set the standard for how a university campus looks and feels. The goal is that everyone who comes into contact with any part of the university feels valued, welcomed and honoured, and sees a reflection of who they are embedded in all areas of Memorial.

Committees and Groups

As part of the work of the portfolio of the Vice-Provost, EDI-AR, our office’s team members work with each other and with others in communities throughout and outside of Memorial University. This collaborative work includes participation on several committees and working groups.

The following committees and groups fall under the purview of the Office of the Vice-Provost, EDI-AR:
