Student programs

We place a strong emphasis on experiential learning. Our student programs give undergraduate and graduate students at Memorial hands-on experience in social enterprise as well as opportunities to develop skills that prepare them to think differently and have a positive impact in the world.

Let's Get Social Workshops	A workshop series providing learning opportunities on topics related to social enterprise, social innovation and social entrepreneurship	Students with an interest in learning more about these topics and in a non-academic format	Current registered students at Memorial Any program/ discipline	1-2 hours per workshop
Campus Changemakers	A student volunteer program for creative thinkers and passionate doers	Students that are passionate about making a positive impact on their communities and want to become CSE student ambassadors	Current registered students at Memorial’s St. John’s campus	Up to 21 hours per semester
Map the System	A global competition that encourages students to take a deep dive into understanding any complex social or environmental issue through systems thinking.	Students that are interested in using systems mapping to gain a deeper understanding of any complex social or environmental issue	Current registered students or recent alumni (12 month) at Memorial	January-April ~ 80 hours
Work Experience in Social Enterprise	Off-campus work placements helping assist on social enterprise-related projects	Students interested in gaining work experience with local social enterprises	Current registered students at Memorial Any program/ discipline	Part-time for one semester (Hours depend on placement)
Mitacs Internships	Off-campus research internship. Student interns contribute to innovative activities that create meaningful impact for a local social enterprise	Students interested in gaining research experience with local social enterprises	Current registered MBA students at Memorial	Four-month internship (Time commitment depends on project)
Impact Investing Fellowship	A training program that provides students with the opportunity to gain skills in investing and venture capital with a focus on social, cultural and environmental impact	Students with an interest in investments and venture capital with a focus on social, cultural and environmental impact	Current registered undergraduate students at Memorial Any undergrad program Have at least two years remaining in your undergraduate degree	One year (May - April) Up to 10 hours per week
Social Ventures Incubator	Business incubator program that provides supports to social ventures including training sessions, business advising, funding and meeting space	Student-social entrepreneurs that have a social venture they’re looking to grow and develop	Current registered students at Memorial or recent alumni (within 12 months) Any program/ discipline	One year (May – April) ~5 hours per month (not including time spent working on your social venture)
