I am a first year Bachelor of Science study hoping to major in chemistry. In the future I wish to pursue a career as a family doctor. This scholarship has allowed me to pursue and education at Memorial University, as well as experience living on campus.

   Program of Study: Bachelor of Engineering

I am an Engineering One student planning on pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. I am extremely grateful to the Scholarship Committee for giving me this award and allowing me to focus on my studies without added financial stress.

Evan Penney

Program of Study: Bachelor of Science

I am entering my first year as a Bachelor of Science student. I plan on pursuing a joint Honours program in Physics and Applied Mathematics. I was fortunate enough to attend SHAD Waterloo in 2015. This incredible scholarship will grant me the opportunity to truly immerse myself in my studies without the stress of financial worry.

Program of Study: Bachelor of Engineering

I am a first year student at MUN, participating in the Engineering One program. My future career plans involve becoming an engineer working in either a medical or environmental field. This scholarship is allowing me to pursue my dream of bettering the world.

Leah Burrows

Program of Study: Biology

I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biology. In July, I participated in the SHAD program at McMaster. I learned about things like STEM, Business, Entrepreneurship, and working in high performance teams. With this scholarship I’m hoping to continue that excellence in learning at Memorial.

 

 

John Healey

Program of Study: Computer Science

I am going into my first year at Memorial University. I plan to major in Computer Science and minor in Physics. The Shad Valley Scholarship has impacted me greatly, allowing me to focus on academics, without the added stress of paying for tuition.

Program of Study: B.Sc Biochemistry

I am a Biochemistry major, French minor student who plans to pursue specialized medicine. The Shad Valley Scholarship has allowed me the freedom to participate in social justice and leadership activities such as MUN Oxfam, Radhoc, and a position at the Janeway Resource Centre rather than just working.
