SON student leads Sea~Hawks to national soccer finals

Second-year nursing student Jessie Noseworthy is a soccer powerhouse!

She helped lead Memorial University's women's Sea~Hawks to their first ever AUS soccer championship, and the team's first ever appearance in the Canadian University Sport (CUS) soccer finals.

In Quebec with her team, Ms. Noseworthy and the Sea~Hawks play their first game against Fraser Valley University in the quarter finals on Thursday, 4pm eastern.

Earlier this fall, Ms. Noseworthy was named Memorial University's player of the week, and one week later nabbed the Subway Atlantic University Sport (AUS) athlete of the week title.

Her AUS title came after strong play against St. Mary's and Acadia, where she scored four goals and one assist and helped her team win both their games. She earned player of the game for her efforts in the second St. Mary's matchup.

Ms. Noseworthy came up with two big goals in the Sea~Hawks AUS title-winning game against UNB.

Congratulations to Ms. Noseworthy and the Sea~Hawks for their incredible play! We are proud to have so many multi-talented students in our midst!
