Faculty of Nursing visits Residence at Littledale to strengthen community partnership
The Faculty of Nursing extends sincere thanks to Doreen Cahill and the team at the Residence at Littledale for the warm welcome and thoughtful tour during Wednesday’s visit to their vibrant seniors’ living community.
Our dean, Dr. April Pike, joined Zachary Thorne, Clinical Coordinator (St. John’s Campus), for the visit, which highlighted the important role community partnerships play in advancing nursing education and supporting excellence in seniors’ health and wellness.
Located in the scenic Waterford Valley, the Residence at Littledale is a private independent and assisted living community known for its caring environment, quality services, and resident-centred approach.
Strong partnerships with organizations like the Residence at Littledale help create meaningful learning opportunities for students while strengthening compassionate, skilled care throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
Through the Cahill Family Foundation, Doreen and Fred Cahill and their family have made valued contributions to community health, education, and social services across the province.

Learn where you live.
Memorial University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Collaborative) program allows students to learn where they live in Newfoundland and Labrador, including St. John’s (two locations), Corner Brook, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The program combines remote classroom learning with local, in-person clinical and simulation experiences, enabling students to train close to home while receiving the same accredited nursing education across all sites.
