The Writing Centre

The Writing Centre is a free facility for all Memorial University undergraduate and graduate students who want help with their writing. The Writing Centre's tutors can help students at every stage of the writing process, including brainstorming, revisions, style, and more. 

The Writing Centre will not be offering any in-person sessions this semester. To find out more about our online service, please visit our website. For further information, please send an email to ennisd@mun.ca.


Physics Help Centre

Contact Christopher Deacon

The Physics Help Centre provides assistance with (primarily) first-year physics courses via email or discussion forums in Brightspace. Help will be provided by lab staff and teaching assistants. 


Math Help Centre 

Contact David Leigh Herman

The Math Help Centre provides math teaching assistants to answer questions for students enrolled in the following courses: MATH 109 A/B, 1090, 1050, 1051, 1000, 1001, 2000, and 2050.  Online services are currently accessible in Brightspace.


Chemistry Help Centre 

Contact Barry Power

The Chemistry Help Centre comprises multiple online rooms running concurrently within the same Brightspace shell, separated by discipline or course, and run by instructional staff members from the Department of Chemistry. Students can access these rooms from 9:00 am NDT to 5:00 pm NDT. Help is provided for any course-related questions on a drop-in basis.


Computer Science Help Centre

The Computer Science Help Centre provides support for first- and second-year lab-based courses. The Computer Science Help Centre can be accessed through a Brightspace shell and is available to students registered in the following courses: COMP 1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1600, 2001, 2002, and 2003 only.


Economics Help Centre

The Economics Help Centre provides support for students taking introductory Economics courses. The virtual help centre provides resources for economics students and offers one-on-one tutoring sessions for students in ECON 1010 and 1020, scheduling information can be found on the Economics Help Centre website.


French Help Centre
french@mun.ca

The French Help Centre provides peer tutoring for individuals taking introductory French courses. The French Help Centre will be run virtually and can be accessed via a Brightspace shell.


Digital Learning Centre

The Digital Learning Centre provides supports to use with regard to the use of technology for teaching and learning in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. In particular, students can access many resources to assist them in language courses, such as German, Russian, Italian, and Spanish.


Engineering One

The Cahill Engineering One Student Success Centre is intended for provides student supports related to academic course work in first-year Engineering courses (ENGI 1010, 1020, 1030, and 1040; MATH 1000, 1001, and 2050; PHYS 1050 and 1051; and CHEM 1050). Engineering One focuses on providing additional instruction, tutorials, and one on one tutoring on course material for students.
