Dr. Fiona Polack

I’m a full professor in the Department of English and Communication and Media Studies at Memorial University, as well as academic editor at Memorial University Press.

I work primarily in energy and environmental humanities, with a particular focus on how we imagine the world of offshore oil. I'm also interested in cultural figurations of islands and oceans more broadly, and in the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism (especially in Newfoundland and Tasmania).
