October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM). In recognition, the Department of Human Resources and the Office of the Vice-Provost, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism are partnering with InclusionNL to offer a webinar, Creating Accessibility Confidence, on Monday, Oct. 30, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

During this one-hour webinar, Kathy Hawkins, executive director of Empower, The Disability Resource Centre, will speak on this topic and provide the foundation for building participants’ accessibility confidence. Session participants will also gain valuable insights they can apply in their daily lives to make their workplace more accessible for everyone.

To register for this webinar, please email evp@mun.ca by Oct. 25.

At Memorial, we are also excited to participate again in the annual Dolphin Disabilities Mentoring Day on Oct. 25. This event uses technology to help bridge the talent, communication and knowledge gaps between business, employment and community supports and people with disabilities.

For more information on this event, please visit the Disabilities Mentoring Day site.
