Budget consultations

Memorial University is seeking input from faculty, staff and students to inform the university’s budget plan for the 2018-2019 budget cycle and beyond. This consultation process was directed by the Integrated Planning Committee (IPC) and the Senate Planning and Budget Committee.

The purpose of the consultations is to seek the university community’s input on: the principles and priorities that should guide Memorial as it seeks to develop a balanced budget; the challenges that we face; and the opportunities that exist for the university in its current fiscal environment.

The IPC, a group established in 2016 and chaired by the provost and vice-president (academic), is leading the consultations which will inform the development of its recommendations to the president on Memorial’s operating budget. The committee hopes that this consultative approach to budget planning – the first of an annual activity – will result in robust conversations that will assist the university in addressing its current fiscal situation and to facilitate long-term planning.

The consultation schedule as well as more information on IPC and its role in the budget planning process can be found here.
