Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic)

The Office of Provost and Vice-President (Academic) has pan-university responsibility for institutional operations ensuring that budget, policies, and administrative structures are aligned in support of the academic mission and strategic priorities.

Dr. Jennifer Lokash is currently Memorial's interim provost and vice-president (academic), and in this role is also the pro vice-chancellor, a member of the Board of Regents and chair of Vice-Presidents Council (VPC).

Memorial adopted a provostial structure in 2012 to be more responsive to the diverse operational needs of such a complex institution and enable greater coordination and collaboration among vice-presidential portfolios. Memorial continues to grow with more students, more faculty and evolving priorities. A provostial structure ensures that the governance and administrative structure better reflects the Memorial University of today.
