MUNSU Election

MUNSU Members,

Voting in the 2022 MUNSU General Election will be taking place on March 8 and March 9

Nominations will open on Monday, February 6th at 9am, and close on Wednesday,  February 15, at 12pm noon. Any students interested in running in the election can get a nomination form at the MUNSU Office (UC-2001), at munsu.ca/elections or by emailing Derek Semerad, the MUNSU Chief Returning Officer who will be overseeing the election, at cro@munsu.ca.

Positions on offer will be from May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024.

Non-Executive representatives will be expected to attend weekly committee meetings while maintaining contact with their constituents.

MUNSU Executive Director positions, featuring 35 hours a week of work and staff support, are up for election:

  • Director of Campaigns
  • Director of Finance and Services
  • Director of External Affairs, Communication, and Research
  • Director of Advocacy
  • Director of Student Life

MUNSU representatives, with the expectation of biweekly stipends and weekly committee work, will be elected for all faculties and for the following constituencies:

  • Macpherson College
  • Burton’s Pond Apartments
  • Paton College
  • Women Students
  • International Students
  • Trans* Students
  • Queer Students
  • Students with Disabilities
  • Indigenous Students
  • Undeclared Students
  • Students of Colour
  • Student Parents
  • First Year Students
  • Part Time Students
  • & a Sustainability Representative

Faculty/School reps must be registered in the faculty/school they are seeking to represent. Part Time Students’ Representative must be a part-time student, and the residence reps must be currently living in the residence they are seeking to represent. The Trans* Students Rep must identify as Trans* (including non-binary).

Please be advised that the following dates are booked for student engagement regarding the elections process and for candidate outreach.

February 28th - 5pm - Approved Candidates Meeting, Council Chambers UC 2001 with zoom call in, required for all candidates
March 3rd - Noon - Candidate’s Forum, Council Chambers (Clubs and Societies)
March 6th - Noon - Executive Forum, Council Chambers required for executive candidates

March 7th -  5pm - Residence Forum, Dhall Second Floor 2002
