Study abroad
If you are planning to study at Memorial University's Harlow Campus or have been accepted to do an exchange at a recognized university outside of Canada, there are various scholarships, bursaries or travel awards available to help you during your studies. In both cases, general awards and faculty specific awards available to you.
Studying in Harlow
Harlow travel awards are awarded to full-time undergraduate students registered at the Harlow Campus in a Memorial University approved program. Preference is given to students who are permanent residents of Newfoundland and Labrador and who are attending Harlow Campus for a minimum of six consecutive weeks (although Biology students doing two courses will be considered) and are residing on the campus for the duration of the award. Eligibility for these awards also requires a minimum of clear academic standing in the previous scholarship year.

Awards will be made by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards upon the recommendation of the Harlow Scholarship Committee. The following awards are available through the application:

- Dr. Edmund de Rothschild Harlow Travel Bursary
- Linfield Award
If you wish to have your application considered for the de Rothschild Travel Bursary and/or the Linfield Award, ensure a faculty nomination letter (letter of support) which addresses your financial need is emailed to Rhonda Byrne in the Scholarships, Awards and Financial Aid office.

- Bristol Group Scholarship for International Study
- Peter and Janet Gardiner Award for International Study
- Henry and Royce Meinhardt Memorial Bursary
- Gar Pynn Memorial Harlow Scholarship
- Scotiabank International Exchange Student Support Program in the Faculty of Business Administration
The following are available to students in the Faculty of Education based on a recommendation from the Dean:
- Gordon Billard Award in Education (awarded in the Spring semester)
- Joan A. Burke Memorial Award
- Dr. M.O. and Grace Morgan Harlow Bursary (awarded in the Spring and Fall semesters)
- Patti Lynn Noonan Memorial Harlow Travel Bursay
- Pinsent Family Harlow Travel Award
The following are available to students in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences based on a recommendation from the Dean:

Going on an exchange
The Coca-Cola Scholarship for International Studies
The Coca-Cola Scholarship for International Studies is a travel scholarship available to students who:
- have completed at least two years of a degree program at MUN;
- are accepted to attend a recognized university outside Canada for one or two semesters of study for transfer credit back to Memorial;
- and have obtained scholarship standing.
The application for fall 2025 will open the week of May 5, 2025.

Scotiabank Bursaries for International Study
The Scotiabank Bursaries for International Study is available to students who:
- are full-time Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences students;
- are participating in one of the overseas field schools or study abroad programs offered through the faculty;
- and have obtained scholarship standing.
The application for fall 2025 will open the week of May 5, 2025.
