JBI Affiliated Group

Memorial University School of Nursing Collaboration for Evidence-Based Nursing and Primary Health Care:  A JBI Affiliated GroupDrs Sandra Small and Karen Parsons

Over the past five years, the Faculty of Nursing has built a collaborative relationship with the JBI, based at the University of Adelaide, Australia, as a JBI Affiliated Group.

Marking the five-year anniversity, Drs.  Sandra Small and Karen Parsons, Convenor, MUNFON JBI Affiliated Group, drafted this article to celebrated the milestone. The JBI is a world-wide collaboration to promote the synthesis, transfer, and utilization of research evidence to improve healthcare outcomes internationally.

Says Dr. Parsons, "I encourage all faculty members who are not JBI trained to consider doing so. It is indeed a wonderful experience and opportunity!"

The Faculty of Nursing has a number of faculty members qualified to conduct systematic reviews of qualitative and quantitative research, according to the rigorous methods of the JBI.

By engaging in such work, the Faculty has an opportunity to make important contributions to health care and nursing practice. Below is a sample of some of our work:
