Dr. Victoria Bucholtz

Victoria Bucholtz is the Executive Director of Trans Action Alberta, the Alberta Regional Organizer for Queer Momentum, the co-creator of Queer Citizens United, and an instructor at Mount Royal University in Calgary. She holds a doctorate in History and Gender Theory from the University of Calgary. She also works in the EDI field (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) the co-founder of the Queer Education Foundation. Victoria was awarded a King Charles III Coronation Medal for services to Canada (2025), the Western Trailblazer Award (2023) from the Calgary Stampede, the Blaze Award (2025) from the Firecracker Department Society, and named one of the 20 Most Compelling Calgarians for 2025 by The Calgary Herald. Victoria also performs drag, burlesque, stand up comedy, and DJs under her stage name Karla Marx. An avid mountaineer, performer, and dog mom, Victoria is a passionate advocate for rights for the gender and sexually diverse community.

Fae Johnstone

Fae Johnstone is the executive director of Queer Momentum, a non-profit advocacy organization powering queer political action across Canada. She is an award winning activist, a sought-after public speaker and frequent voice on queer and progressive issues in Canadian media. She was once on a chocolate bar, consumes coffee at a terrifying rate, and is driven by a simple desire: to build a more free, equal and socially just Canada - one conversation and campaign at a time.
