Bachelor of Arts
The Bachelor of Arts in Economics offers students a strong foundation in economic theory and applied analysis while encouraging exploration of the broader social, institutional, and historical context in which economic activity takes place. This program is well-suited to students who are interested in understanding how economics interacts with society, policy, and global issues.
With fewer mathematical and statistical requirements than the Bachelor of Science, this degree provides greater flexibility to pursue interdisciplinary interests, develop critical thinking and communication skills, and prepare for careers in areas such as policy, law, journalism, and public service.
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts may combine their studies with a joint major in economics and commerce, or with any other social science—such as geography, gender studies, or political science.
