Consultation sessions planned in the New Year for search for provost and vice-president (academic)

Memorial University has begun its search for a new provost and vice-president (academic). A search committee has been established and has been working through the search process during the late fall.

Search committee members include Dr. Ratana Chuenpagdee, Department of Geography, Dr. Deborah Kelly, School of Pharmacy, Dr. Brent Snook, Department of Psychology, Christopher Dennis, QEII Library, Cyr Couturier, Marine Institute, Kent Decker, VP (Administration & Finance), Dr. Kirk Anderson, dean, Faculty of Education, Dr. Lynne Phillips, dean, Faculty of Arts, Dr. Matthew Janes, director, Student Services, Grenfell Campus, Robert Leamon, MUNSU, and Alexandra Gilbert, GSU.

Representatives on the committee were selected in accordance with the MUNFA collective agreement. 

Search consultant Gerri Woodford of the firm Ogders Berndston has been retained to support the work of the committee.  Open forum consultations with the university community have been scheduled to inform the position profile, and are as follows:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 – 10:00 a.m., Suncor Hall, School of Music
  • Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 – 10:30 a.m., Grenfell Campus, AS 2026
