NLVaxPass

Oct 22nd, 2021

Memorial University

If you have an upcoming event at Memorial University, please be aware that as part of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s implementation of a vaccine passport, event attendees aged 12 and up will require proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 or an approved medical exemption upon entry. All attendees of an event being held at Memorial University with guests from outside the Memorial community or a mix of internal and external guests will need to present their NLVaxPass QR code or proof of full vaccination.

Along with proof of vaccination, individuals must present either one piece of photo ID with their name and date of birth or two pieces of plain ID—both need to include the individual’s name and at least one needs the individual’s date of birth. Please allow extra time prior to the start of the event as staff work to ensure all attendees have been checked. Individuals who do not provide proof of vaccination will not be permitted to attend the event.

In accordance with the NL Vaccine Passport, you are considered fully vaccinated when at least two weeks have passed since your final dose of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine. For the purposes of the NL Vaccine Passport, you are also considered fully vaccinated if you received one or two doses of a non-Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine, followed by one dose of an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), and at least two weeks have passed since the mRNA dose.

To obtain a proof of vaccination record QR code, attendees can download the app and follow the instructions, or visit the COVID-19 Vaccine Portal or MyGovNL. Individuals who do not have access to technology or family/friends to assist, may call 1-833-951-3859 to request a printed copy, or visit their local public library. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and thank you for your patience.
