Johnson Geo Centre
On January 28, 2026, Memorial University announced it would be divesting real estate that is not central to the university’s academic mission. Signal Hill Campus, including Johnson Geo Centre, is part of the divestiture. The intention is to transfer the Geo Centre and for it to continue to operate as a cultural, public education and tourism destination. You can read more about the decision online.

The geological interpretation centre is a place where people can come to be educated and informed about the importance of Newfoundland and Labrador's geology. It is a place where the Memorial community shares expertise and a place that fosters curiosity in science and the world around us.
In addition to being a science centre with exhibits and programs, the Johnson Geo Centre hosts several events each year and is the ideal facility for your next special ocassion.
