Funding Opportunities for Public Engagement

 

Funding opportunities include grants, scholarships, awards, internships and any other program providing financial support and recognition for public engagement activities at Memorial University. 

This list of resources is a living document that we hope to keep udating over the years. The Catalyst Conference Fund for Public Engagement supports conference organizers in creating opportunities for public engagement as part of large events. The fund is designed to support academic conferences that align with the goals and objectives of Memorial’s View the Framework (Vision, Values, Goals and Objectives) by encouraging opportunities for public participation in conference activities.

Public Engagement Postdoctoral Fellowship, Office of Public Engagement

The Public Engagement Postdoctoral Fellowship (PEPDF) is offered by Memorial’s Office of Public Engagement (OPE) in collaboration with a Memorial faculty member or academic unit and participating external organizations.

Community Scholars, The Harris Centre

The Community Scholars Program is an initiative of the Office of the President and administered through the Harris Centre. The program provides up to $10,000 to approximately 10 scholars annually who would like to spend 8-10 weeks in a community in Newfoundland and Labrador and engage with the residents in a range of public engagement activities.

MMSB Waste Management Applied Research Fund, The Harris Centre

The purpose of the Health Professional-led Research Funding is to develop patient-oriented research and evaluation capacity amongst health professionals. Applicant must be a clinician, nurse or other health professional working actively in a clinical role within aresearch, health or community care institution in Newfoundland and Labrador.

NL SUPPORT and Quality of Care NL build learning, capacity development and sustainability in patient-oriented research. We strive to nurture the next generation of researchers and provide career development for current researchers and staff. To that end, we provide support in the form of graduate student fellowships each year. The value of this fellowship is up to $16,000/year for up to two years for master’s students and up to $20,000/year for up to three years for doctoral students.

Undergraduate Training in Research Assistance (NUTRA), NLSUPPORT
