Public Engagement Practitioner's Network
The Public Engagement Practitioner’s Network brings together members from Memorial University and public/community organizations to:
- Introduce like-minded individuals and organizations to one another, and build connections for future collaboration
- Identify potential collaboration opportunities between members
- Share public engagement activities, projects, and lessons, including outcomes, best practices, events, funding, professional development, etc.
- Help shape Memorial’s public engagement strategy and activities by providing input, suggestions, and ideas
This is a voluntary group that meets three times a year and is chaired by staff from Memorial’s Office of Public Engagement. This Network is open to all self-identified public engagement practitioners in Newfoundland and Labrador (or outside the province but with a connection to the province). If your work (professional or not) includes helping to foster collaboration between different groups of people and/or organizations for the benefit of all parties, you may find this Network useful.
Members from Memorial may include students, faculty, staff, retirees and alumni. Public members may include representatives of NGOs, charitable organizations, community groups/associations, governments (of all orders), and educational institutes.
The Network has no fiduciary or operational responsibilities and there are very few expectations for members, aside from showing respectful behavior during meetings.
If you would like to join the network or would like more information, please contact engagement@mun.ca.
