Campus Enforcement serves notice to users of illegal permits

Campus Enforcement and Patrol (CEP) has been noticing a high number of illegal parking permits on the St. John’s campus. These illegal permits include a copy or duplication of a Memorial University issued permit, and pay and display permits.

Section 27(1) of the Memorial University Parking Regulations states that ‘A person shall not deface, copy or duplicate a permit issued under these regulations.’ Vehicles found parked in areas using illegal permits or not having a valid permit for that area, will be ticketed under Section 37(1) of the regulations.

Officers will also place a notice on these vehicles requesting them to contact CEP investigations within five days. Failure to do so may result in a criminal investigation. To avoid this, owners/operators are asked to comply.
