Through a partnership between Memorial University’s Centre for Analytics, Informatics and Research (CAIR) and IBM Canada, residents of Newfoundland and Labrador aged 18 and older can now access IBM SkillsBuild — a free, digital learning platform designed to help learners develop essential technology and professional skills for today’s job market.

IBM SkillsBuild provides open access to more than 1,000 online, self-paced courses across a variety of fields, from information technology to communication and leadership. Whether you’re an adult learner, job seeker, student, or professional looking to reskill or upskill, this program offers flexible pathways to help you grow your expertise and gain industry-recognized IBM digital credentials.

What Makes SkillsBuild Unique

  • Over 1,000 free online courses aligned with in-demand career pathways (such as cybersecurity, IT support, and data management)

  • Training on professional workplace skills like communication, collaboration, and problem-solving

How to Get Started

Registration is open to anyone aged 18 or older living in Newfoundland and Labrador — no MUN email required.
