Summer student hiring is now almost complete.  We currently have 19 students funded from various programs working in our research labs.

Our department is currently participating in the Campus Food Bank’s Twelve Days of Giving food drive (http://www.mun.ca/campusfoodbank/12_Days_of_Giving.php ).  Marie Codner is the volunteer in our department leading this initiative.  The food drive runs until June 28, 2017.  Marie has placed a box in the Feltham room for food drop offs or you can give her a monetary donation and receive a receipt.  Our department has a strong history of being good donors and we ask that everyone continue to be as generous as possible to this worthy cause.

Planning continues for Biochemistry’s 50^th Anniversary.  We expect that multiple new scholarships, both at the undergraduate and graduate level will be announced at the up-coming reunion. We are also in the process of adding on a "Celebrating 50 years of excellence" half day symposium.
