Explore Graduate Studies: Transdisciplinary Sustainability (PhD), Grenfell Campus
Sustainability problems don't fit neatly inside one discipline. Memorial's PhD in Transdisciplinary Sustainability (TRSU) trains researchers to bring together knowledge from different fields and work directly with external partners to tackle complex ecological, social, economic and political issues. Offered through Grenfell Campus and its School of Science and the Environment, the program is structured but flexible, so students can pursue their own sustainability interests while building shared skills in complex systems, sustainability science, team science and knowledge co-production with stakeholders.

Explore Graduate Studies: Master of Fine Arts, Grenfell Campus
Memorial's MFA in Studio Arts at Grenfell Campus offers a flexible, low-residency path for artists who want to grow their practice without relocating for two years. The program is tailored to each student's area of research and combines critical theory with practice-based work. Students begin with an on-campus intensive in Corner Brook during May and June, complete the fall and winter terms from their home community or another Memorial campus with distance supervision, and return to Grenfell for a second spring intensive. The program finishes with a final project and exhibition. It takes two years full-time, with part-time options of up to six years.

Explore Graduate Studies: Grad Program at the Fisheries and Marine Institute
As a campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland, the Fisheries and Marine Institute is Canada’s most comprehensive centre for education, training, applied research and industrial support for the ocean industries. Marine Institute consists of three Schools – the School of Fisheries, the School of Maritime Studies and the School of Ocean Technology – and within these Schools are a number of specialized centres and units which lead, both nationally and internationally, in applied research, technology transfer and industry training.

Explore Graduate Studies: Graduate Program in Boreal Ecosystems and Agricultural Science, Grenfell Campus
Memorial's Boreal Ecosystems and Agricultural Sciences (BEAS) program at Grenfell Campus in western Newfoundland trains graduate students in agronomy, soil science, hydrology, land and water management, and plant science, all in the context of boreal ecosystems. Research focuses on sustainable cropping systems, precision agriculture, soil health and the effects of land use change and climate change on managed and natural landscapes. Students work with faculty in a close-knit campus of about 1,300 students and use the Boreal Ecosystems Research Facilities, which include advanced labs and field equipment. The PhD is the only one of its kind in Atlantic Canada, with a focus on both managed and natural boreal ecosystems.

The Grenfell Campus Master of Management is Atlantic Canada's only program of its kind, delivered fully online for working professionals. Students move through the program in a cohort, completing two courses at a time over five consecutive fall and winter semesters. It's designed for people working in or toward managerial roles, especially those without a business or management background, though business grads are welcome to apply too.
