COVID-19 Updates

Applications

Fall 2022

Applications for the Fall 2022 semester are now open via the Student Residences Portal. New students may apply to residences once they have received their provisional acceptance to the university. Application, confirmation and cancellation fees will be reinstated for this semester as we move towards more normal operations. Residence fees can be viewed here.

COVID-19 Safety within Student Residences

Some of the additional safety measures that Student Residences has implemented throughout the COVID-19 pandemic include:

  • Enhanced and increased cleaning throughout all of our facilities.
  • Card access can be modified in order to limit the flow of people around our buildings and can be altered if needed to address any safety and security concerns. Card access is (and always has been) required to access residence buildings.
  • Capacity limits throughout our shared spaces.
  • Abiding by all provincial guidelines and requirements set out to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

What can you do?

All employees and students are required to be vaccinated in order to be present on campus. Vaccination is open to those 5 years or older in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Isolation Protocols

Please refer to our FAQ page, as well as the provincial COVID-19 site and the Memorial University COVID-19 Information Hub in order to ensure that you are abiding by the proper isolation protocols. These protocols may change at any time

Mandatory Mask Policy

The use of masks on Memorial University campuses and locations continues to be mandatory. A three-ply, non-medical face mask is the minimum standard. Use an N95 or KN95 mask if available. For more information, please refer to Memorial's impact scale and applicable Public Health restrictions.

Individuals are required to wear masks, especially in indoor spaces where physical distancing cannot be maintained or when the vaccination status of those around is unknown. This applies to common areas in student housing and social events. Students are free to remove their masks while in their individual rooms.
