Director's Welcome

Welcome to Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Interdisciplinary PhD Program, housed in the School of Graduate Studies. Doctoral students currently in program pursue studies across various departments and faculties. The ID PhD programme currently counts 34 doctoral students.

The ID PhD offers an intimate and varied community in which students bring strong individual initiative together with the shared research concerns and expertise of a diverse supervisory committee in studies that cross traditional disciplinary borders. Applicants are encouraged to take an active part not only in shaping their interdisciplinary research projects, but also in putting together their committees of supervisors from across any of Memorial’s faculties and schools.

The ID PhD programme is grateful to the members of the admissions committee for their precious input in the study of the application files. The members of the Id PhD admissions committee are:

Dr. Meghan Burchell - Acting Associate Dean, School of Graduate Studies
Dr. Jacqueline Blundell - Acting Associate Dean of Science, Research and Graduate Studies - Psychology
Dr. Reza Tabrizchi - Vice Dean, Research and Graduate Studies - Biomedical Sciences
Dr. Emmanuel Haven - Director ID PhD Programme

As Director, I look forward to this next term in the Interdisciplinary PhD Program at Memorial University, and if you have any questions about our program, please contact me at ehaven@mun.ca
