Best Paper Competition

The MUN Economics Society Research Competition is an exciting annual event that showcases the innovative research work of undergraduate and graduate students in economics. This competition provides a unique platform for participants to present their original research projects in front of a distinguished panel of judges, including industry professionals, university professors, and government officials.

Open to students of any discipline, participants gain invaluable experience by defending their ideas and findings in a professional setting, enhancing their communication skills and expanding their academic and professional networks. Outstanding presenters have the opportunity to win cash prizes, recognizing excellence and encouraging further academic and career development.

This competition not only celebrates student scholarship but also fosters a vibrant community where emerging economists can connect, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful discussions on real-world economic issues.

Since 2024, the winners of the Research Competition have had their papers included in the Memorial Economics Working Paper Series.
