Minor in Classics

A Minor in Classics allows the student to complement their main area of focus with study of the classical civilizations of ancient Greek and ancient Rome. Classical culture and classical thought has greatly influenced the modern world; hence knowledge of Classics provides a basis for understanding many other fields.

The Minor program in Classics consists of a minimum of 24 credit hours in Classics courses in accordance with the following:

  1. at least 3 credit hours at the 3000 level or above
  2. with the exception of language courses (Classics 1120, 1121, 1130, 1131), no more than 6 1000-level credit hours may be counted towards the minor.
